| | CATALINA ISLAND MEDIAL CENTER FOUNDATION One of CIMC’s biggest sources of support has been the Catalina Island Medical Center Foundation. Formed in 1980 as the Avalon Hospital Foundation, this organization’s goal is to support health care on the island, both through raising funds and by publicizing CIMC’s goals and guiding principals.
Laboratory analyzers, ultrasounds and EKG machines are just a few of the essential equipment purchases that have been made possible by foundation support. The organization has also funded facility renovations and training for personnel.
The foundation meets on the third Friday of every month at 9:30 a.m. on the CIMC Patio. The meetings are open to the public.
